Welcome to the Virtual Houston Air Route Traffic Control Center on the VATSIM network. Our airspace is one of twenty control centers in the United States and covers approximately 277,000 square miles of airspace encompassing the southern half of Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama. Part of our airspace includes a Flight Service Station over the Gulf of Mexico. Our major airport is George Bush Intercontinental (KIAH).

A new version of the ZHU Sector File is now available for download at http://www.zhuartcc.net/index.php?optio ... &Itemid=23.

Updates include procedures changes, updated navdata and cleanup of the existing file.

One change is you will find procedures applicable for both IAH and HOU under the code I90 rather than two separate copies of the same procedure.

The New Training Scheduling System is now Online.

You can access this system by logging into the main ZHU Website and then clicking Scheduling. This system is designed to automatically set up appointments between students and training staff members. Students please try and post your availability to the calendar when ever you know in advance that you will be available at a particular time. Please be careful that by default the timezone is set to Zulu, you can change this by simply clicking the My Account link on the calendar page. When posting availability please double check both what timezone your account is set to use and what time zone you are posting your times in. This is not here to replace signing onto TeamSpeak and looking for someone who is available this is simply an addon to allow a more efficient use of our training services.
